Inspired by the courage of Canadian hero, Terry Fox. It was performed in September 2015 at the 35th anniversary of his cross country run at the unveiling of a statue and park dedication in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, and presented as a gift to Terry’s siblings.

LYRICS
Rain pounds on your shoulders
Bitter wind, burning sun
Your body aches
But your heart’s on fire
The will to make this world a better place
Is what makes you run
What makes you run
What makes you run
Every hour of each day until the setting sun
What makes you run
What makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
It’s in our hearts
And on our skin
In each and every place where you have been
Your courage fires the spirit that’s alive in everyone
We feel the gift of what makes you run
What makes you run
What makes you run
Every hour of each day until the setting sun
What makes you run
What makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
With each town
Each mile won
We follow in your footsteps until this war is done
We’ll keep on running with our nation’s son
We will keep alive what makes you run
What makes you run
What makes you run
Every hour of each day until the setting sun
What makes you run
What makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
What makes you run
What makes you run
Every hour of each day until the setting sun
What makes you run
What makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
Seeing nothing in your way
Is what makes you run
